Founder

Our illustrious founder Mrs. Sheela Chopra founded St. Francis International School in 1985. Mrs. Chopra came to Kolkata somewhere in the year 1975 along with her mariner husband and made the city her home. After settling herself, she started offering private tuitions to the children in her locality. The response she received from the parents due to the progress of their children inspired her to start of her own. She recognized the agony of the parents looking for appropriate education of the young ones, who had capacity to pay, and at the same time, wanted administrative convenience. A long-term planned was germinated in Mrs. Sheela Chopra’s mind, with a dream to establish a modern and progressive school, meeting the aspiration of the society.

The dream became reality with the founding of St. Francis International School & St. Xavier School. Initially the school had just 33 students on its roll and operated out of rental premises. However, the school gained reputation and became well known. Both the schools are known for their quality education and a name to reckoned with.

We lost our founder on 5th May 2017 but the vision continues to drive on school as it progress from strength to strength.
